Possibly a little off from normal, but I've done some RP in other rooms, and it's always a little difficult picking a character out of a list to play with.

So... I programmed this.

This is a flash document that goes off of an XML file of characters, and it can be easily customized to fit anyone's criteria. I only have thirteen characters in the system right now... but would anyone be interested in using something like this for role play here? I could loan this out to the room with only a few changes to the code.

That's quite the generator there, very nice. I personally don't play any of the D&D-style games, and only participate in ones that really don't follow the style at all, so I can't comment on it in specific, I'd just sound like an idiot!

That being said, most of the RPs here tend to be fairly individualistic, and require very personalized characters. A lot of us take types that we are trying to write, and put it together into a character that fits the setting. So it might be better for some of the RP's than others.

Even though I don't participate in the RPs here, I'd agree that it is a good way to develop both major and minor characters that you intend to use in your novel or short-stories. It gives you a chance to put them into situations and work out the details of their behaviors, fears, ideals ect.

It's one of the reasons that we have RP's here at FWF.

Well, that... plus they can be a lot of fun. Very Happy
