This page was a major inspiration in my editing process as even though I felt my opening paragraph was cool, the opening sentence sucked. I wrote a whole new chapter 1 that will slide in before my existing chapter 1. It serves as a prologue but I'll never call it that. What I love about it is that it introduces the title character, gives you a summary of her problem without giving away any revelations (while digging a REALLY deep hole for her), and gives a bitchin' opening sentence and a fine opening paragraph.
