Regulations/Rules

All rules must be followed at all times in order to ensure smooth game flow. If you have any questions or complaints please PM one of the Game Masters a Mod or the Story Master. Remember this site is for RP not for fights (as in Flame Wars).

1. AUTOING IS NOT ALLOWED- For those who do not know, you are "Autoing" another's character if you are writing actions/thoughts/comments of a character not your own. This is not allowed, unless you have permission to do so by the other player, in that event please notify a Mod or the GM. Autoing repeatedly will result in moderation of your posts.

2. CHARACTER LIMIT- You may have up to as many Characters, as you can handle, if at anytime a Mod or the GM thinks your posts are beginning to lack in detail or skill due to the amount of characters you have to maintain you will be asked to make no more characters and to stick with only the ones you have.

3. NO GOD CHARACTERS ALLOWED- (unless otherwise noted by the GM or a Mod.) There are in Gaiea-Esuria, they are played by the Mods and the GM only unless otherwise stated and are only used when a priest or cleric or etc. prays to one of them and we decide to answer that prayer. At times though one of the gods may do something to liven the RPG up or give threads more context and adventure, but not normally.

**Side Note: As a Subset to this rule, no god-like characters allowed. Your characters will not be allowed to be all-powerful, all cunning, all-anything. You should play this game knowing ahead of time that your characters WILL/CAN get hurt, and they can die. We will not write your character for you, but you should be writing your character with this in mind.

Your character cannot escape every situation and every attack. The GM and Mods read every post, of every thread, to make sure that players are playing with good, realistic, form. If we find your character seems to be getting out of one to many scrapes without a scratch, so to speak, we will address it with you and reposting may be required.

4. NO DISRESPECT- Disrespect is not tolerated at this site nor will the Mods allow it, so please try to respect each other and each others views. If you have a problem take it to Yahoo Messenger (or any other service you may have) or PM me at dariendreamwalker (On Yahoo MSN) or contact one of the Mods to resolve the issue. Posting at the site itself with vulgar lang. or a rude remark to other members or a mod or the GM is a bannable offense.

5. POSTING OUT OF CONTEXT- will result in automatic deletion of post, meaning if you post saying you’re in need of sex or something like that it will be deleted. If you try to post again referring to sex or other vulgarities you will be removed from the RPG. Any posts made that have some sexual reference need to have a rating of R in the thread title and in parentheses why. Please post like adults, there are kids who role-play at this site at any given time so we must avoid exposing them to certain elements where possible.

6. LEAVING THE RP- if you leave this RPG you retain the right to your characters but the GM reserves the right to have someone else play your character for a maximum of two posts to kill your character off to ensure the thread your character was in moves forward. However you have the right to pick someone to play your character as their own if you want but it is not required.

7. FAILURE TO POST OR NOTIFY A MOD OR GM-If you are posting, but do not post after a total of two days, without prior notice to a Mod or the GM your character will be moved/autoed for you to ensure the threads run smoothly. We understand things come up and irl comes first, but this is an active hard-core rpg and to ensure members do not wait for months this rule has been made and will be enforced. If you have given notice to a mod or GM you can leave instructions for your character until you return. Note that only a Mod or GM will play your character in your absence.

8. REALISM- This is a Realistic and an original RPG, all characters and plots within the RPG need to be at least somewhat realistic, this is Fantasy but unbelievable posts wont be allowed or characters, such as if your characters head is removed he or she is dead and can not magically keep fighting/walking/talking. Be realistic but also have a good time.

9. PROPER GRAMMAR-Posts, OCC comments, and any and all statements within the site and RPG must be grammatically correct.

Ie: 1. What u up to, r u ok? 2. What are you up to? Are you ok?

In this example number two is the correct way to word the sentence.

10. TYPE NUMBER AND SYMBOLS OUT- Numbers and symbol must be typed out, such as 10 must be typed out as ten and % must be typed out as percent. This is a RPG site and writing must be up to par to be a member, it doesn’t take much time to type out the number or symbols, Role Playing is a craft.

11. CHARACTER DEATH- Player characters can die in this game. Permission is not required of you for your character to die in a situation. Your characters will not be randomly killed off, or murdered, for no "reason." Neither Mods nor Players are allowed to play as such. However, if you put your character into a "foolish/stupid" situation, where retreat/escape/surviving is very much questionable, then it will be QUESTIONABLE.

When your character dies in the rp, he/she is dead and can not magically be brought back and you can not amazingly cheat death, death is final unless otherwise stated by a GM, Mod, or agreed upon before hand by members of the thread you are in, if such a agreement is made you must email or IM the GM or a Mod and let them know.

**Side Note: As mentioned above, your character is not guaranteed to be able to escape/dodge its way out of any situation. Should you place your character into any unwinnable odds/situations, then expect that character to very likely die. In other words, if you're a lone hill dwarf with an axe and you stumble upon a few dozen vampires, odds are - you wont be walking out of their "alive". If you're an army of 100, and you come up against a force of 5000, don't be placing any bets of winning without some outside intervention.

If you're in a dungeon, or cave system, miles below ground - there is no "suddenly finding an exit" or "blasting up through the rocks." Read posts carefully for details, and don't put your character into a situation where escape/survival is extremely difficult/unlikely, if losing your character would be a big deal/hardship/stress for you. If however you don't care about the death of your character, or creating a new one, or whatever, feel free to put them into whatever suicidal situations you'd like and see what happens!

And of course, again, at any time if you feel your character was treated unfairly or killed unfairly, please email/PM OFF LIST to the thread's Mod, any Mod, or the GM for a ruling - whichever you feel is best, you may also consult the OCC Board for a Ruling by the Story Master. You're much more likely to get our full attention by taking it off list maturely, than ranting IN the list how unfair anyone was. You don't help your case by ranting in the list.

As story master of City of Thieves, may I allow some slight autoing? Its already happened with my character twice, and really I have no problem with it as long as my character stays within the realm of his personality. It seems to move the story along faster and allow for longer posts (which is the goal for my story).

As a side note, I'm going to bring it up as a subject for disgussion in our chat thread.

As the Story Master of the RP you may yes, The Story Master may use these rules more as a guideline then anything else, it is your choice on what to allow and what to prohibit.

..... Ha ha ha!

I find it highly ironic that in the "PROPER GRAMMER" section, there are already two mistakes; a spelling mistake and a grammatical error.

1.) "Grammer" is spelled "grammar"

2.) It is, "What are you up to," not "What are you up too."

Sorry, sorry. Just thought it was funny.

But I agree to the aforementioned rules and regulations.

Do I need to get any sort of approval to start a new RP? A description is posted in the Discussion section, should I just start the thread?
