I've just finalized my list of mailings for my first batch of submissions.
I'm sending out five in the first batch. Four to agents, and one directly to a main-stream publisher that accepts direct, unagented submissions.
I've written a good set of query letters that I'm happy with.
But, one of the submission requirements is to send "No query letter" only the entire MS along with a "cover letter"
You'd think after going through this before, I'd know the particulars of how they are different... but I'm nervous about it.
Does anyone have any links that will outline the difference between a query letter and a cover letter? Or a link to sample cover letters.
I know I can write a good one, but I'm on-edge that I might miss something critical to that format.
Thanks.
