"CLOSER TO ONE"

"Closer To One" is the story of Earth, 156 years in the future, in 2164. Twelve years before, an experiment gone wrong has caused the destruction of half the world, the remaining population forced below ground. Orphaned humans are implanted with a countdown ranking system. They are sent above ground for re-con, sabotage and combat against the quickly increasing numbers of creatures, now called Uriah. Every time someone in a higher ranked is killed, everyone below is moved up one, until they reach 0001. There are many rumors surrounding rank 0001 and no one has lasted more than a week in the position. They usually go down 2 per week. Lately there has been large disappearances of up to fifty people at a time.
This follows the tale of Corie Gradings, a girl who notices the rapid decline in numbers. She and her friend, Monk, watch as they gradually grow closer to 0001 and start to unravel the mystery about what really happened twelve years ago.


I certainly am committed to this challenge and I encourage others to join. Hopefully I'll be able to meet my target and complete a novel! 350 a day is a great idea. Wish me luck!

I pretty pleased with my writing. I slipped into the niche of creating something easier than I thought I would. As Fifth said, "hit the ground running".

Obviously I took my one day break on Monday to clear some thoughts.

I went well today and I got it done faster than I thought I would. Yay! Every thing is progressing well

It was a bit of a push today to get the words out but it wasn't as bad that I felt myself at a complete block. I start my exams tomorrow so I think I'll find writing a little bit of a struggle for a while. But I'll keep at it!

Trust me, I know how hard it is to juggle all these things, but make writing your escape and outlet, and it will become addictive.

Writing is the beast you envision it to be. It can be ugly and mean, or it can be kind and gentle.

It's up to you how you relate to the task of sitting down to write.

I had the whole day to write, and it took me almost that to write it. Although, I was preoccupied too. It was a good days writing though. I could definitely put a little more detail into it than usual.

I keep writing but forgetting to update! This is Tuesdays. I think I will take every Monday off.

This was the last thing I did yesterday so I was pretty tired and stressed from exams. It was a good escape, except I fell asleep straight afterwards.

yes things add up quickly. Just keep with the program. That almost 5000 words will quickly turn into 10000 then 20K and up. It is amazing what just a little time will do everyday.

I'm starting to do my writing late at night, last thing before bed and updating it the next day. I find that I can do a lot of writing at night, but I have to work it around my school work.

Since school holidays started, I've been up at my dads for the past week. Lack of internet made posting impossible but thankfully Word was still going. I've kept up the writing and hopefully have made the target. I bet one or two of you thought I was gone for good eh? I still write on!
